Ana S. Canavan South Texas TMC Head Start/ Early Head Start holds ribbon cutting ceremony

Roma, TX – A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday to celebrate the Grand Opening of South Texas TMC Ana S. Canavan Head Start/ Early Head Start new center.

South Texas TMC Ana S. Canavan Head Start/ Early Head Start Center will provide services for children and families in the Roma area and surrounding communities. Roma ISD, City of Roma, TMC Head Start/ Early Head Start staff and volunteers together shared ideas, plans and great expectations. It was a very productive event which brought these entities together to unite efforts and establish a partnership towards working together in serving our children and families. A deeper awareness and understanding of TMC Head Start/ Early Head Start mission was accomplished through the networking and sharing of information.

A tour of the classrooms was given and refreshments were served.

About 70 people turned out to attend this important event, among them; Leticia Garza Galvan Roma ISD Board President, Raul Moreno Roma ISD Board Vice- President, Reynaldo Rodriguez Roma ISD Board Member, Oscar Ramirez Roma ISD Administrator, Crisanto Salinas City of Roma Business Manager, Mrs. Mary Lou Cruz City of Roma Council Woman, City of Roma Chief-of-Police Jose Garcia, Ameida Salinas Starr County Tax Collector and Assessor, Ramiro Guillen Starr County Justice of the Peace Precinct # 2, Maribell Cardenas Superior Health Plan Representative and TMC HS/ EHS staff.
